Force Install?

I am attempting to set up a home FW box using ASG v7.2.201. I have a 4GB SSD drive I'd like to use. I realize the HW requirements are 10GB. However, I installed v7.2.201 in a VM and it used less than 1.5GB. Thus, I'm pretty sure it'll get by with the drive I'm trying to use, as this is for a HOME system.

So, my question is, how can I force the install to ignore the discrepancy in minimum HW requirements?

My asking this question is in the hopes of not having to do something silly like install on another drive, and then copy the install to the disk I really intend on using.

    My reading at this stage is SSDs are not quite up to 24hr production environment yet. If there was some way of spreading the writing all of the device then it might last, but the swap space will probably give out first, followed by the log file space.

    You are probably better off getting a laptop drive, approx 3 watts, quiet, robust.

    You can get 16GB SSD drives for under $100, btw.

    I am trying to reuse my existing firewall HW which previously had CentOS 5 on it. It's a Jetway-based VIA C7 mini-ITX box I built some two years ago, and has served me well as a firewall. I've just been considering Astaro's ASG for the last year (procrastinating), and have finally decided to jump into it with both feet.

    I have an old laptop drive laying around gathering dust....I guess I can just toss the 4GB SSD into the trash....I just hate wasting it. Yeah, yeah, the laptop drive was just rotting, so I might as well get some use of it, and put the SSD on the shelf to rot. ;-)

    Centos is a great server OS, but I think you'll like Astaro for firewalling.

    Extremetech today reviewed a SSD adapter that takes 2 CF cards; and you can stripe or mirror between the 2. I'm not if it spreads the writes; etc. It's $99 with no memory.

    They criticized the performance, but it looks like it'd do the job of running Astaro just fine.

    There are ways to tune Linux and Astaro to minimize swapping, but there is still a LOT of writes for logging; unless you want to turn most of it off.

    BTW, the new Western Digital "Green" drives supposedly idle at 3watts, and they're full-size desktop drives, all the way up to 1TB.

    FYIs, tests are reportedly showing that Solid State Disks use MORE power than hard disks:
