Raid 1, SMP, HP G5, 100Mbps

I could only find the HW Compat List for 6.X, and it doesn't show whether RAID 1 and SMP are supported yet.  I am currently running 4.x and am upgrading to 7.x, but need to know what hardware to get.  I was hoping to use some new HP DL360 G5s, with RAID1 and either dual core or 2Xdual core, with 4 NICs.  Questions are:

1.  can 7.x use raid 1?
2.  can 7.x use/benefit from SMP?
3.  can 7.x use an HP dl360 G5 (only G4s show up on the list)?
4.  what hw should I use to ensure full bandwidth (100Mbps)? We will be using most of the services--internal lan int, dmz int, vmz int, web proxy, email proxy, filtering, some nat/pat, full rule-base (~200 rules in order of use), antivirus gateway, ftp proxy, etc.  with about 3,500 users (probably ~250 at any one time, most using the web proxy/filter/antivirus).

    1. Hardware RAID works fine, as long as there is a driver for the contoller in Astaro.
    Astaro has cciss drivers for HP SmartArray controllers, but I don't how new they are, for the latest controllers.

    2. SMP should be no problem, and if you're using the proxies, etc., it should help performance. You may even want to go with 2 dual-cores or 1 quad-core considering your load. (see #4 below)

    3. Probably, but it's really a question of whether the SATA or SCSI or RAID controllers are supported. (see #1 above)
    If you have a server on hand, try installing Astaro on it. If it makes it through the installation and boots up, it's probably fine.

    4. There are some old performance guides floating around, but 100Mbps packetfiltering (and VPN throughput) shouldn't be a problem with modern hardware.
    HTTP content filtering at 100Mbps or 250 users may be another story... especially if you're doing anti-virus as well... perhaps others here can respond as to it's performance.

    5. You probably should get 4GB RAM.

    6. Recommend Intel NICs for the add-ons. (the onboard Broadcom ones work fine too, but I think you only get 2). I don't remember how many slots the 360 or 365 have, but you can get quad-port Intels.
    Last I heard, there was some uncertainty as to whether the PCIe Intel quad NICs work in Astaro.

    7. The AMD CPUs may perform better; e.g. HP 365 vs 360. This is debatable though, but the kernel packetfiltering at least seems to scale better on AMD. Not sure about the proxies, content filter, etc. though. Latest Intel CPUs are much better than older ones, but the 360G5 may still be using an older generation.
