SSI 2.200 USB Install

I've found the SSI USB Install package on the FTP, but i cannot figure out how to have it work... everytime it ends with an error.

Where can i find the correct procedure? is every USB Stick suitable?

Here I have the same problem. Tried several USB Sticks, tried with XP and Vista, the error is every time the same: "Error 209: bNAND memory not found."

SSI-Install images for installing ASG hardware appliances can be found here:

Made some further tests with USB Sticks formatted as superfloppy or formatted as harddisk, every time I get the same error 209.

did you try fat32?

Yes, I tried FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS, the problem is always the same (and I think it has nothing to do with the filesystem on the USB stick, because the whole USB stick is overwritten by the ASTARO-SSI-USB.exe).

Hi,

it's impossible to use normal usb-sticks for installation. This is the reason why you got an error  209.

What you need is one of the new astaro usb-sticks. An official announcement about  these usb-sticks will send out in approx. two weeks, which contains the price p.u. and the way to order.

You will find that you cannot get the hardware appliance images to load on a conventional USB stick; they emulate a hard drive, while the appliance needs a CD drive image to load.  The ASI USB sticks emulate a CD drive, not a hard drive- that's the tricky part.

As far as making conventional ISOs USB bootable, I recommend trying Unetbootin (http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html) and effortless way to create bootable thumbdrives.
