Lost Webadmin

Installed the 7.2 FW up2date a few days ago, and now I can't use webadmin.

"Service Temporarily Unavailable.
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."


I tried re-booting the system, but still not able to administer it.  So, I either have to buy a new router, re-image this one, or hope the current settings never need to change.  Not exactly what the designers have in mind, I bet.

Anybody have any ideas what I can do?

    Have you tried connecting by IP address? Did you make any changes just before this happened? Do you have a recent backup you can put on a USB key? The firewall will use any backup it finds during bootup if you are using v7

    A second reboot rendered it normal again.  

    Yes, I had made some small changes before the issue came up - DNATs, that sort of thing.  Also the 7.2 up2date.  However, it seems fine now.

    You mention something interesting:  "The firewall will use any backup it finds during bootup if you are using v7"   So, if I couldn't access the webadmin, I cold stick a USB key with the latest configuration backup on it, and it would automagically restore it?

    I did not know that!

    where do I have to put the backup ?

    You can save any old backup of your configuration on a USB flash drive. If you plug the usb flash drive in your ASG and reboot the system, the whole configuration will automatically restore.

    One important detail... if you are using the USB stick for backup / restore... the backup file MUST be in unencrypted format for the automatic restore to work.
