Installing SAMBA - help needed

Hi all

I want to install the ASG on a PC with a 60GB drive at home, but I can't afford to let all that disk space go to waste.

I'd like to add the SAMBA service once the ASG software is set up and running, so that the remaining disk space can be shared for all the Windows PCs at home to use to make backups.

I have looked in the Manual and the KB for "SAMBA", and even searched this forum, without too much success. I'm a Linux newbie, but I did manage to install SAMBA on an Ubuntu server some time ago.

Any HOW-TO's or advice would be most appreciated to get me going.

- install linux
- install vmware server
- download the astaro vmware image and run astaro as a virtual maschine

I hadn't thought of doing it that way. Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll need to RTFM for the VMware stuff.

If anyone has experience of this, how much RAM does the VMware server need, and now much disk space should I set aside?
