Hostname Question

I've got a newbie question for you.  My ASG (free software on a Compaq box) connects to the Internet via Comcast.  In ASG admin, should the Hostname be "comcast.net"?  When I query my hostname via the web, I get a very long hostname including IP address (and my Comcast requires dynamic IP addressing), and I'm not sure if I should use this as a Hostname.

Any suggestions of what Is should use so that my cert will work and spam notifications function correctly?

    You should probably create a dynamic DNS account with one of the supported parties and use that as your hostname.

    The really long hostname is your actual hostname as provided by comcast, but being on dynamic, it may well change every time you connect.

    Use dynamic DNS or get a static IP.
