new install - internet connection

New install of 7.1.  2.4GHz, 1.25GB RAM, 20GB HD.  Install went well.  Changed computers IP to 192.168.2.x and logged into eth0 and went through set up.

http in transparent mode. DHCP server appears setup properly. Internet connection into eth1 is "active" and can get an IP address.  eth0 is active too.

Will not assign DHCP.  However, when I assign another computer a fixed IP in the 192.168.2.*** range I can browse the internet and the Astaro Device has sent an email to me telling me it cannot get the update.

I feel like I am so close but yet so far.

Is there a way to login to the ASG computer from the login screen on the ASG.  Root seems to be the only way and it does not give WebAdmin type access that I can see at least.

Any thoughts?
