I still haven't gotten my ASG 7 install complete, but I read online somewhere that you could use a USB ethernet adaptor as your second NIC. I have an old beige Dell 500Mhz box that should do fine, but of course the devices are a bit old. I go through the install booted with a linksys USB200M adaptor plugged into the usb port, but when it's done scanning hardware it only sees the internal 3com adaptor. Any tips on making this work?
I would imagine that if people are running Astaro from VMWare, they must be using this trick because the VM is going to emulate one NIC. After that, you will probably have to use the USB support to add a second NIC. The install says it's only going to install for me to preview the UI unless I have two nics.
2) My other problem is probably the drive in this machine. Install fails after a long time doing package checksums. If I alt-F3, I see first that utempter's rpm has an input error, then on the next line: FAILED open or read. I then see every other rpm with the message : FAILED. I may try with a different disk drive (I think the CD Rom is probably ok.
