I am installing Astaro on my home network as a testing ground toward using it in the field.

Here's what I have.

A Pentium III 500MHz box that I have installed ASG on. It has two nic cards and I haven't run the wizard yet.

I have a Speedstream DSL modem that is currently working with a Belkin Pre N router that is handing out DHCP on a 192.168.2.x system.

I want to put the gateway in there, but I'm not sure where to put it. right now it is just connected to the Belkin router as if it was just another computer on the network. It has a static ip of 192.168.1.100

I can get to the interface and configure it and watched the installation video, but I'm somewhat stuck.

Is there a good tutorial or diagram I can look at? Can someone walk me throught the basics?

    This has been discussed here repeatedly, but...

    Plug the Astaro box into the DSL modem; configure it to get a DHCP address or PPPoE or however your DSL is setup.

    Setup the DHCP server on Astaro for the LAN.

    Disable the DHCP server on the Belkin.
    Put the Belkin on the LAN. Only use the LAN ports on the Belkin, not the WAN.

    This way, the Belkin will only be running as an Access Point, not a router. Astaro will handle everything else.

    Thanks for your reply. I figured it must be a very common question. 

    I tried to look for the other posts, but got a bit confused with their specific setups.

    I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes.
