Hello forum,
I've managed to install the latest version of Astaro on an older IBM Intellistation E Pro 6214 and it's running so far without any problems. The specs are P4 1.8 GHz, 512 MB, a Maxtor IDE/ATA 40 GB HDD, onboard NIC, and a PCI Gig NIC.
So, here's my question. Does anyone know if Astaro will work with the external network (Internet) being a Sprint EVDO connection (PCMCIA Card). I've installed the cardbus in Ubuntu and connected with WVDIAL, but I'm not even sure what version of Linux Astaro is a derivative of. Even if I'm able to install the PCMCIA card and Astaro see's the EVDO card, am I going to have to hack the software in order to make it work? I've searched the forum and google and can't find any verification one way or the other. I only know enough about linux to be dangerous, but I'm slowly but surely picking up on it.
Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated before I pull the trigger and try making this work.
