What’s the most stable version7?

The latest version, 7.104.

Agreed, the last few versions have been pretty rock solid.

Simon, BruceK : Do either of you use your Astaro boxes as a DHCP server? 

With 7.102 and 7.104 it will run for about 5 minutes and then the DHCP will stop handing out addresses.  Any computer with a static IP continues to access the internet with no problems.

With 7.101 and 7.103 my Astaro DHCP server worked fine.  I'll wait for the 7.105 and try again.  Maybe it just likes the odd numbered releases.  For now, I have had to activate DHCP on a Windows 2003 server.

Have I opened a support case?  No, as this is a home system.

We have several clients that use Astaro 7.104 with DHCP Server enabled (for wireless DMZs and the like), works fine.  You might have another system on your network somewhere that thinks it's the DHCP server... check all your access points, etc...

Sorry I wasn't more clear.  

Network is the same.  It's in my house.  I can see all ends of it. There are no other devices on it with DHCP enabled.

With Asg v7.101, 7.103 the Asg DHCP server works fine.
With Asg v7.102, 7.104 the Asg DHCP server works for 5 minutes.

When I turned on the DHCP on the Win2003 server, there were no IP conflicts, my 5 workstations get IP addresses and report that 
the Win2003 server is the DHCP server that they got their addresses from.

I'm glad all your v7 versions work great.  Mine doesn't.

I was pretty clear; just had that as a suggestion (I've overlooked that sort of thing myself before, sounds like you've checked and double-checked already)... are there any entries in the logs that indicate what's going wrong?

The last line is actually the first line after rebooting the ASG.  In the 6 minutes between the last two entries, all access to the internet by DHCP clients is lost.

I don't see any errors in there, at least not the actual word "error".  It could all be wrong and I wouldn't know it.

It's an annoyance more than anything since I can use the Windows server to provide DHCP.  Just seems odd that it has worked fine for me with every "odd" release.

that is peculiar... does it fail on that same PC everytime (the one that was toying with the .93 address)?  Any entries in the IPS log or Packet filter log happening at the same time?

Have you tried logging in via the shell and executing /var/mdw/scripts/dhcpd restart ? Does that restore functionality?
