astaro on vmware sucks after update

Hello NG,

we are working on an astro7.011. This runs on a vmwareserver like a charm.

After doing an upgrade to the next astaro version an error comes up.

The webmininterface wont come up and fails on initialisation.

Firewall can not be configured anymore.

Any hints??

    No idea, I've updated a few VMWare instances and have not had this issue.  Did you start with the official, supported Astaro VMWare Image (used to be here: http://download.astaro.com/Astaro_Virtual_Appliance/v7.0/  of course now there is only the 7.100 image) , or is this a self-built VMWare image?

    If you have a config backup, try just loading the new 7.100 VMWare image and restoring your configuration.

    no we are using the astaro-vmware.

    Sorry, it might be the German-to-English thing; your answer didn't come through very clearly; are you using the Astaro-provided custom VMWare image, or an image that you created by manually creating a virtual machine from scratch?

    The vmware tools are quite a bit out of date on the V7 vmware installs, however from support there is supposed to be a new vmware image installation available in 7.200 to bring the installation ISO up to current vmware compatibility.

    You might want to run the 7.1XX install.

    Which version of VMWare are you using? ESX?

    I'ved tested 7.1XX on ESX 2.5/3.0 and 3.5 with little problems to no problems.

    Try upgrading to the 7.1XX vm appliance that Astaro has and let us know if that resolved the issue.

    Hi guys,
    we are using vmware-server (without esx).
    And we are also using the vmware-image provided by astaro.

    And we are waiting for updated and working version of a new image.
    Wheanwhile i tested the updated stuff again with the same error!

    I'm working with the latest Astaro 7.104 on VMWare Server 1.02 without any problems.
    The installation is based on Astaros VMWare-Image 7.100

    I have the same problem.  I started with the 7.100 esx3 image.  Was working fine until the 7.101-104 updates applied.  Then I couldn't login to the web interface and traffic wasn't passing.  Had to start from scratch.
