File system error saying read-only

Hi All,

Version 7.102 running for a few days, then I can log in.  Looked at the server and the screen is showing lots of sys-log errros saying the file system is read-only.  Nothing seemed to work.  I still had my v6 firewall, so i powered it back up and re-patched the cables and powered off the v7.  Since then I have restarted the v7 (without the network) and it has booted fine and is sitting at teh logon prompt, with not a sign of errors.

Does anyone have any idea what couold have caused this or where i start looking, not that experienced with Lunix.

Thanks

Ian...

  • I can't think of any reason a filesystem would be mounted as read-only unless there was a filesystem / hard drive issue... well, it's running now, but if it quits again, I'd look at replacing the hard drive.
