Initial Setup

Hi guys,

I'm stiil new in this IT world, lately I have to deal with this. So the story is that I have to build firewall, and somebody said that I can use astaro. So I install astaro in my box, and success the problem is that I cannot access to my internet connection, this connection is a VLAN ethernet connection...I already follow the quick guide, but it didn't help me too much, not enough explanation in it.

Is there anyone who want to help me with this setting?

    Hi,

    Please tell us what you already did in the configuration.

    You will need to enable Masquerading (network security -> Nat)
    Then you probably would like to enable HTTP proxy (Web Security -> http)

    Be sure your internal and external ip config is correct.

    Hi,

    Forgive my foolishness, but I'm still in networking so I don't know how to do masquerading, Would you like to show me hoe to do it in Astaro. I already managed to setup the astaro with IP 192.168.8.10 subnet 255.255.255.0 as the admin it means I have to connect to this eth with IP 192.168.8. right? So I already managed to get inside the Web Admin, but it seems, that the default setting is completely block all the traffic from internal to internet (ip 192.168.2.138 subnet 255.255.255.0 this is a VLAN ip). So in the quick start it is said that I have to do masquerading, but I don't how...and the routing is quite complicated for me...So if you don't mind would you like to let me know how to do it...
