Hello,
We have recently upgraded our net connection to a 10 meg Ethernet circuit delivered over fiber. The Telco has installed a Cisco 3400 Switch onsite that we have set as the gateway and configured it as they would for any other client. We are unable to get the full 10 megs in both directions and I need some assistance.
The standard configuration for the Telco's switch is 10FDX, so I've locked my interface on the ASL at the same rate. I am connecting to an FTP server that is on the Telco's network 1 hop away for testing.
Uploading to the site I get a full 10 megs, downloading I see between 10-100KB, or under a megabit of performance.
We've tried having the telco change the port configuration to 100FDX and auto, and in turn matching the config on the ASL, yet this seems to reverse the problem. With this 100 meg or auto setting I can download at 10 megs, yet my upload starts crawling. The telco also shows errors on the Cisco port when we try this configration.
I will be working more with the Telco tonight to attempt to resolve this issue, if anyone has any experience with Cisco's interfacing with ASL's and specific settings that we could try on the Cisco or on the 220 I'd appreciate the input.
Side note to this, when we plug a laptop into the same port on the Cisco we get much better bi-directional performance. We have also swapped out the Cisco, the cabling and the ASL unit (I have 2 in HA) to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Keith
