Built a v7.100 from scratch - interesting

Hi,
I built my new ASG from scratch using hardware I have discussed in another thread.
I have been asked to run lspci -v to provide Astaro with an update. When I can get it out of the ASG I will add the file to this thread.

Build takes for ever, somewhere over an hour. The ASG application installed without missing a beat.

I created the configuration from scratch.

Errors during configuration. (see attached)
1/. POP3 doesn't work, see log file
2/. Quarantine manager gives an error
3/. end user portal gives an error. 
4/. no email notification even though system has been restarted about 4 times and a version update.

I think all 3 errors are related to a problem with mysql, but I don't how to fix it.

I am a little puzzled about the performance of the box. Some bits are way faster and other bits seem just as slow as with old box.

    The pop3 error message file is attached in zip format. I had to disable the smtp proxy,it wasn't sending anything. Mysql error.

    I will a forum search shortly because I am currently running e-mail without much scanning.

    The web browsing is way faster. So far it appears to be a success even with bleeding edge motherboard.

    I now need to let it settle in place and correct the missing configs.

    Is mysql even running? /etc/rc.d/mysql status 

    If not try /etc/rc.d/mysql start

    part of the issue is most likely your mobo.  The nvidia chipsets are just now being widely supported in the 2.6.x kernel reliably..since Astaro uses a reduced driver set i bet that's part of your issue.

    Hi Wildchild and William,
    mysql is running or at this stage it shows in top. I don't think the problem is actually the mobo, but one of the NICs appears to have failed, a brand new one at that.

    So a re-build is on the card with only 2 NICs.

    An interesting thing and I hope it is caused by the faulty NIC, CPU usage is up not by much. Considering I am throwing about 3 times the CPU power and faster memory I would expect the CPU occupancy to be lower. I am only talking of single cpu running average about 2% where as the multi cpu is averaging about 4%. I am not running the mail proxies, smarter and less time slots, less web proxy filters.
