It's been a while since I've asked a question rather than answered one, so here it goes:
I've been tinkering with a custom Astaro system, and am trying to figure out how to reorder the interfaces ... for example, the machine has 3 cards in it, and let's say for whatever reason (by MAC address, bus order, etc.) the top card is assigned to eth1, middle card eth0, and bottom card is eth2... I'd like to reorder those as eth0, eth1, eth2 from top to bottom. I know there's a way to do it, as I recall Astaro having some problems with a 7.x release where a 320 (or it could have been a 425) appliance would have it's interfaces named in the OS incorrectly (the ports on the front of the case were out of order) ... they subsequently fixed it in an up2date... my question is how did they reorder these? I'm fairly "fluent" in Linux, and have googled for several solutions, and none seem to apply or work on an Astaro 7.x installation.
Any Ideas out there? I might end up asking Astaro support how to do it, but I thought maybe you guys would like a challenge!
