Installing Astaro V7 on Secutrends A10 Hardware -> OEM Install

I bought a Secutrends A10 Hardwareappliance using Astaro V6.

I wanted to upgrade to V7 by Up2Date Service, but recognized that this is only possible with Astaro Hardware.

Now I'm trying for several days to upgrade the A10 by Installation.

My problem: The A10 has only a console and LAN Ports, so that I'm unable to enter the Informations needed in setup.

After a few days of work I made it to boot the V7 via CF card (there's no CD on the A10) via syslinux (actually V7 ISO is using isolinux).
Getting the "console problem" fixed at first it came to an other problem:

When the Setup reaches the "Blue Installationscreen" I don't have consoleaccess anymore.

So I need to activate a console during the whole install or create a autosetup.

First I wanted to try the "consoleway" until i found the /etc/oem.data in the initrd-file which I mounted.

The only problem is it's hash which is stored in oem.hash. 

Does anyone know the way to calculate this hash?

or is it (in case autosetup doesn't work out) possible to control the setup via console and how?

    Hi Ingo,

    I once had a A10 and had to update it from V5 to V6.
    As far as I remember the board in the A10 had an IDE-connector. So just open the case and connect a cd-rom-drive.
    Then the installation is as usual.

    Problem on the A10 is that it also has no PS2/USB ports, so I'm unable to connect a keyboard to enter the setup informations (language keyboardlayout time admip etc)

    the system is boot from the cf...thats not the problem.

    the problem is that i'm unable to do the settings.

    thats why i tried the oem.data - way.

    with the oem.data manipulated the setup isn't asking the informations anymore.
    it starts with the hardwaredetect and then fails. (currently testing on VMware @ work and not on the A10).

    maybe the hash file isn't needed. i'm not quiet sure. 
    But as i configured a 10gig hdd, 2 ethernetports and 256mb of ram it should work out on the vm.

    if you don't think so mail back [;)] later i'll try on the A10.

    Hi Ingo,

    I looked up my files and have to apologize. I remembered wrong, it was a A20, that I had and this one had connectors for keyboard etc.

    But is the A10 not also based on a VIA-board with internal connectors?

    i asked @secutrends an they told me it's an Advanted FWA-200 system.
    But I didn't look up the board yet.

    I opened the case due to installation of a pci vga to see what the console didn't offer [;)] so I can approve that there are several internal connectors.

    maybe i'm able to find an face plan to find a place to connect my keyboard by building an adaptercable.

    maybe someone has an idee for the hash / autosetup problem anyway.

    I'm sure you can find cables to connect up a keyboard and video... there should be headers on the MB inside of the unit to connect to.

    if you have a securack office *** (blue 1he rack,4*lan), you need an extra  vga and ps2 cables. This are not included and must be ordered separatly.

    You can also try to connect via hyperterminal and COM1 (but i am not sure if console is redirected)

    Do they sell these things without an Astaro license?
    It looks like the small ones would be great for home use.
