How is the up2date from 7.011 to 7.1 going for you?

I just updated our 425 appliance from 7.011 to 7.1 and now we are having authentication issues.  Always being prompted for authentication and then we get an authentication failed message.  Not going well here!  I'd love some help if someone has an idea.

Well, finally had a problem, and it's pretty bizarre... have a customer with a custom built machine w/ ASG 50 user license (we built it, it's a little overkill with 2GB of RAM in it, but we'll never touch the swap with it!) with 3 intel PRO100 / S NICs in it.  All has been fine until we applied the 7.100 up2date... suddenly no internet.  Fortunately, we could get into webadmin through one of the other interfaces... it turns out the internet link was down... no lights on the card or anything.  Swapping the cable for a crossover (it directly connects to an Adtran router) fixed it... I guess they updated that intel driver, and somehow the auto MDI/X function is now broken.  In case any of you other guys have problems, check the link status, try a crossover cable, etc. -- it might be the same problem.  I've reported the incident to Astaro support along with detailed HW info that will help them check it out.

Other than that, the migrations / updates have been going well.

Nice find, Bruce, that would explain a lot of the problems people seem to have with the 7.100 update.

You might be on to something.  I've had no success upgrading to v7.100 and my homegrown firewall uses two "Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100]" NICs (1).

I'll try another rebuild in a day or two and post the results.

You might be on to something.  I've had no success upgrading to v7.100 and my homegrown firewall uses two "Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100]" NICs (1).

I'll try another rebuild in a day or two and post the results.

That's how the Astaro describes the Intel NICs in this particular box.  Bear in mind, the one that was misbehaving did start working after we changed the cable, but the problem was clearly tied to the update, as it worked fine for 3 months before this.  I  have gotten a response from Astaro concerning this case, and they are quite interested, and have also acknowledged that many drivers were updated with the new release.. .I guess we're just finding some of the hidden issues.  Billk, I'd be interested to see if crossover cables / manual speed / duplex settings / or different NICs in the same box fix your problems.

Just updated to 7.100 this evening on our production 220 v1.
 
The install itself went smoothly if slow.  Appeared to hang on the install of the Kernel package at 85%.  I was patient and after about 10 minutes, it continued on with the ramaining packages rather quickly.  Total time was around 20-25 minutes including reboot.
 
After re-entering WebAdmin, I flipped around a little bit, noticing that my list of sites to block in the http proxy had been successfully carried over to the new block list.  Went to rejoin to our domain.  In previous versions I had to use the single name for the domain, which would not work with 7.100 (tried both lower and upper case).  Using the FQDN (e.g. domain.com) did work though, which wouldn't work in previous versions.
 
Logged onto a random workstation to check http connectivity, which worked just fine.

I upgraded to 7.100 and I am getting every hour a "content filter not running - restarted" e-mail notification????

All other things work well

Update from 7.007 to 7.1 works fine for me on a 320 H/A. Going to update my other H/A system next week.

I upgraded from 7.011 to 7.100 and I didn't encounter any problems so far.
Machine: Dell PE2650, Dual Xeon, 2Gig RAM, Perc3, 2 x SCSI-HDD as RAID1, Intel Pro1000 Dual-Port NIC

The Web-Inferface is now running much faster.

I  have gotten a response from Astaro concerning this case, and they are quite interested, and have also acknowledged that many drivers were updated with the new release.. .I guess we're just finding some of the hidden issues.  Billk, I'd be interested to see if crossover cables / manual speed / duplex settings / or different NICs in the same box fix your problems.

Any news from Astaro as to when a fix will be available?  I reviewed the 7.101 upgrade notes but saw nothing that specifically addresses this issue.

I was up to my eyeballs with Christmas programs this weekend, but will try next week to see if a crossover cable or different NICs make a difference.

crossover cable didn't fix the realtek driver issue for me but swapping out the realtek nic with a dlink one made it work! [:)]

Well, it took me MUCH longer than I anticipated, but it looks like v7.103 fixed my issue (I had left myself on v7.011 until now)!  I'm going to wait until v7.104 loads, but if all goes well I plan to return the two new Netgear NICs I recently purchased.

v7.104 loaded without a hitch, so back to the store the new NICs go.  Now I just need to figure out how to upgrade my network to GigE.   ;-)
