Power saving features in Astaro?

Can anyone confirm if Astaro supports any power saving features, such as Cool'n'Quiet or Speedstep?  I have a couple of unused machines I'm considering as Astaro installs, but I'd really like to user their respective power saving functions if I'm going to use them.

If Astaro doesn't officially support it, has anyone been able to hack it in there themselves?  I'd be very interested if so...

    Just curious.  Under what circumstances do you think you'll be able to use any of the power saving features?  And not that you shouldn't be green anyway, but is it particularly important due to the technical or practical circumstances of your installation?  Most firewalls on the perimeter are at least somewhat busy all the time - 24/7  - and wouldn't necessarily have lots of opportunity to remain in a power saving mode unless there was simply no traffic.

    That said, most fans and CPU speed settings. are enabled and controlled through bios settings (is that not available in the computers you're proposing to use?).  As such, they are generally determined by default circumstances outside the control of the O/S (Astaro Software), though there may be an interface program that allows access from the O/S.

    Yep, for Windows, you typically you just need to be sure that the computer is set to "Minimal Power Management" and has the proper CPU drivers installed if necessary.
