Which Socket 775 Mainboard working with Astaro 7

I gave up the installation on the Asus P5B VM SE (see my other thread). [:@] I've wasted enough time on that sh*t! [:@]

Now I'm looking for an alternative Socket 775 Board that definately works with the Astaro 7

Nice would be with Onboard VGA and that it works with
SATA Harddrive and IDE CD-Rom and has at least 2 PCI Slots (better 3)

I appreciate your recommendations. Thanks a lot [:)]

    Greets Mitchy;  I've got a few of the P5B-VM Boards running Astaro 6.311.

    Sorry I haven't found your other post but I found that to install Astaro you must use an external CD-Rom since the motherboard's IDE Port is on a PCIe to IDE adapter that don't get recognized via the installer on 6 or 7

    Hmmmm, does that mean my motherboard, that I just bought may not work with an internal CDROM drive?

    Yippy, my motherboard and CPU I bought works!  I had to buy a cheap 64 mb PCI Express Graphics Card and put my 2 NICs in it, but it works!
         Gotta love 2 Gigs of RAM though, big difference from having 512mb like I did before.

    thanks a lot for the answers. After I changed the CD-Rom from IDE to an SATA Drive I was able to install. But after completing installation it does not comes up. It hangs with an ACPI error but I have used classic installation and all ACPI is disabled.

    Pyro411 , do you have the Asus VM Boards running with the onboard graphic?
    This would be in my opinion the last possibilitie I could try. Maybe my problem is related to the onboard graphics adapter.

    Mitchy, What I did to get it working -- sorry trying to go from memory here... is as follows.

    1)  Update the bios to the latest stable release
    2)  Reset Factory defaults
    3)  Shut down everything you don't need, IE Audio/Raid/Plug & Play OS/ turn the USB from 2.0 to 1.1 weird quirk with it on 2.0 for some reason -- possibly a chipset error or the cheap external CD-Rom I was using.

    After doing those I was able to do a standard install with 2 NICs in the PCI Slots

    what error were you getting from ACPI?

    also have you tried typing in "default noapic acpi=off debug" then hitting enter to start the installer?
