I have been unable to find any documentation to explain the "backup interface" feature that appears on the advanced box on the configuration tab under management/High availability.
What does this do? We have a problem with the HA feature in an active-active cluster of 2 525's on 7.011. Sometimes, the cluster fails and both units try to become masters. When this happens, internet access stops until the units are restarted. I have duplicated this behavior by disconnecting the HA cable (ethernet 3). My hope is, that by configuring a backup interface for the HA, that the system would remain stable even if the HA connection has an issue.
Does anyone have any info on this?
