process cffd

what kind of email and/or web filtering have you enabled?
What kind of Hardware are you using and how many users are behind that?

e-mail just smtp, pop3 is disabled
web proxy is http, ftp

users: about 70

now the memory usage of cffd is very high, webdmin is not possible anymore!

any idea?

Same problem here 7.11 on an astaro ASG220 we do not do web content filtering only smtp spam checking etc.

Is it possible one of the pattern up2dates has caused this, as it only started happening again yesterday. We had this problem on V6 and a month ago I upgraded to V7.11 and the problem went away, it has been fine for a month and now the problem is back.

I have manged to work round it though, I turned off the transparent http proxy and put in 2 packet filter rules instead allowing http through from our internal nets and the speed has improved massivley. Cffd is no longer at the top all the time.

Any comments?

The cffd looks dead and has to restarted! smtp off/on doesn't help!
