ASG 220 Monitor?!

Hi @ all,

I am just preparing an Update from my 6.311 to v7 and I want to do that directly with the new firmware and configure it than up without importing the old config.

But now I have seen, that on the 220 there is no vga connection...

How can I change boot order to USB CD-ROM, or can configure the new installation??

  • Well, the boot order should have been set right at the factory --- try booting with the USB CD ROM... if it was set right, you'll see activity on the CD-ROM drive, as well as (at some point) the LCD display on the front will indicate different phases of the install.

If, however, you are one of the unfortunate ones that have the BIOS set wrong, you have to open the case, and plug in the VGA ribbon cable (that ships with the unit, usually in the bag that has the rackmount "ears",etc.) on the system board -- it's keyed and there's only one header on the board that matches up.  Then you can set the BIOS using a USB keyboard.

  • Thanks a lot, but I can not remember where the bag is....

    oh, oh.....
  • I believe it may be a standard pinout... but I can't swear to that.  Contact your reseller, they probably have some laying around (I know I do).

  • for asg220 upgrade connect an usb-cdrom and powerup the appliance.
For sucsessfull update you need a SAI-7.00X.iso. An ASG-7.00x.iso dont work on appliance.
You can also monitor the boot-phase via rs232 and hyperterminal.

    regards
  • Yep, forgot to mention, you'll need a special ISO image from your reseller to update that appliance, as the previous poster mentioned.
