Wierd--I've setup several VMWare instances for customers and for lab use, and have never seen this. What version of VMWare are you using (workstation, player, server, ESX -- version number)... All my deployments have been on VMWare Server 1.03 / 1.04 on top of OpenSUSE 10.2, with the exception of one site that is running VMWare Server 1.03 on top of Window Server 2003 SP2.

As the titles states I'm using VMware server 1.0.4 on top of WinXP 64 bit edition. This is the second time I've re-downloaded the image just to be sure the image is good I did an MD5. All checks out.
I'm wondering what could have gone wrong. As for the VMware Server itself... I can run openSUSE 10.2 inside of it sucessfully so the VMware is not the problem. Perhaps it's a case of the I need to redownload Astaro VA again.
As per other users I'm using the non-ESX VM version of Astaro 7.004.
Only difference I can see so far is that all the platforms I've deployed VMWare Server and Astaro on are 32 bit platforms... perhaps that has something to do with it?

I've been attempting to redownload the VA. So far I've been able to download 283 MB of the 911MB. I'm often getting 0.0 KB/s from Astaro's FTP.
I'm using GetRight due to the number of restarts which has happened. It stopped and restarted over 155 times since I started trying to download it. At this rate it will be next tuesday before I finish downloading the VA.
As for the current version, I always click inside the VMware while attempting to run it. THe only difference with VMware Server is, I do not have VMware Tools installed. Could this be a problem and where can I get the tools from?

Yeah, it'd be nice if Astaro provided torrents for any file larger than 50 MB or so, especially for anything larger than a couple hundred MB.
