Upgrading ASG220 with USB-CDROM

Hi,

i can´t upgrade an ASG220 appliance with USB-CDROM - it seems that it does not try to boot from the CD! I´ve tried several different USB-drives and several images on different CDs but got no luck...

is there a certain trick to enable the boot from usb? I´ve already upgraded several appliances with the same setup without problems but this damn box does not even try to boot from usb...

Thanks in advance!

cheers
Jan

  • I have seen 2 220s so far that did not have their BIOS set properly to allow boot from CDROM.  Get a USB keyboard, and the VGA ribbon cable adapter (older units shipped with this, not sure if the newer ones do)... crack the case, plug up the VGA, and go into the BIOS and enable booting from USB.

Also, make sure you use the special appliance ISO image; the standard image as found on the regular ftp site will not work.  If you are not a reseller, contact one and they can get you an image CD.
