SMTP LOG Problem

Hi togehter.
Since Yesterday i have a problem with an ASG 220 V 7.007...
I have a Logfile amount 320MB...

This is what will fill the Logfile. Every 5 Second new Lines...
I don't find the failure...
The default IP is an offical Internet IP... And there is the default gateway, too.

Have anyone an idea?

    The firewall is only to connect a Branch of our company.
    The Asg should send us the reporting and errors...

    But we don't receive any.only the cpu is at 99%. Now i stopped the SMPT-Service and the CPU goes down...

    The ASG is now stabilized...
    When i start the SMTP-Service again the CPU will rise up to 100%...
    The settings are the same like the ASG in our Company who is connected to our branch..
    I don't understand this..

    Has anyone an idea how i can fix this problem.
    We wish to receive this reportings!

    Hello togehter...
    After 2 new Updates the we have still the problem that the CPU rise up to 100%.
    If i shut down them smpt service the ASG CPU is ok.
    I have an minimal configuration on the ASG. I don't think there is the problem.

    Have anyone in the past the same problem?

    This is due to the reporter log files getting too large.  If you are able to SSH to the box you can go to the /var/log/reporting/adbs directory and see a listing of these files. They will have a .dbl extension.  If any of these files get too large > 25 MB they will cause the 100% CPU.  To verify which one is causing the high CPU, run TOP at the command line which will list the top running services.  You will see pfilter-reporter or mailsec-reporter or something else consuming all of your CPU. Astaro is aware of this problem and working on it. The workaround is to rename the file using the mv to another file name.  Here is the commands that Astaro sent me to correct the problem when I had a packet fiter file too large.  I currently have the problem with another box with mailsec too large.

    login to the astaro via ssh as loginuser and change to su

     

    Enter the following at the commandline:

     

    cd /var/log/reporting/adbs

     

    mv pfilter.dbl pfilter.dbl.old

     

    /etc/init.d/syslogng restart

    Of course this will only fix the problem of the 100% CPU.  You still need to discover what is causing your log file to grow so large.

    OK... I've fixed the problem by deleting all Mail in the Inputfolder from SMTP.
    Now i generate an new Notification by using a failed Login...
    The mail will not send...
    Always the same error

    I've installed a smarthost for the ASG and the other systems will work with this smarthost... No Login... Is only for testing...

    The Internal and the Interface to my branche are allowed to use the Port 25...

    Any ideas?

    Hi there, 

    try to restart the mysql service:
    /etc/init.d/mysql restart

    Every email gets logged in the database, if the database connection does not work, no email can be processed.

    the smtp-port is open... A telnet on this prot is OK. And i read the smarthost...

    Sorry that open this thread once more again, but i think i've found the problem.
    Today i've read the thread https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/56/t/48230 and i updated my problem-Astaro...
    After reboot i'd the same problem...

    I'd looked in the script /var/mdw/scripts/cffd and found a section "recovery"..
    I'd started /var/mdw/scripts/cffd recovery and all seams OK...
    After that I#d started the mysql und the smpt-proxy...

    Now, the smpt-proxy is running!

    Can someone explain me, what this recovery fix?

    The recovery section is only for members of the Astaro support team!

    If you start the recovering a backup of the mysql database is created and all smtp messages will be moved to a backup directory. After the backup of the data a complet new and fresh database is created. It is like a new installation but only for the part for the smtp proxy.
