Astaro email notifications

How do I get astaro email notification to work.  I want to get the weekly backup emailed to me and alerts.  I have it setup with my email address, but I never get anything.  I have v7.006 and am only using it as a http firewall.  I don't have anything setup in the email security section.  Basically everything in the email security section is disabled.  Do I need some of this setup for the email notifications to work.  I use astaro in my home.  My email is handled by a MS exchange 2003 server at my office.

    Do you get any mail from the Astaro box?(W2K3 server)
    Could you check the SMTP LOG's at 01:15 Saturday mornings for errors?:
    I'm using a back-up interval of a week!

    Is it getting to your Exchange box and being rejected?
    Is your Office Firewall rejecting it?
    As SilverOne says, check your SMTP logs and post any errors you get

    Likely an antispam setting somewhere. Mail send directly from home accounts are usually dropped because home accounts are supposed to email via the mail server of their ISP. In other words, an indication of a zombied or botnetted PC.

    Some of those lists allow to specify a static IP address within a home accounts IP range to be labeled as non spam host. Depanding on what happens when and where why your mileage may vary.

    Hi there, 

    if you have nothing configured, the ASG will use DNS MX records to try to find the email server responsible for your email. Therefore it needs proper DNS resolution.

    If the domain (inside your email address) is not publicly available, or you want your email directly be sent to your exchange server, you should enable the smtp proxy inside the email security menu.

    Add your domain(s) to the email domain list and add the ip address of the exchange server as an host definition in the internal server config option.
