Hello,
I am running v6.311 and have been experiencing an issue with the dial backup feature. Primary external network is a DSL line with standard ethernet from a SDSL router. Backup is a standard serial modem. When the DSL drops, Astaro automatically fires up pppd and dials the backup line. Normally, after the dialup ppp connection is established, if the DSL comes back up, astaro sends a SIGTERM to the pppd process which then hangs up and resets the modem. However, sometimes the DSL goes down for only a few seconds. It may be just long enough to trigger the dial backup, but the DSL will come back online before the ppp connection is made to the backup ISP. When this happens, the SIGTERM that is sent to pppd is caught before the connection script is complete, and pppd treats it like an error from the modem connection attempt. In this case, the modem remains off hook and is not reset. The modem can even be left connected to the backup ISP.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds?
Can anyone test if this also occurs in v7?
Thanks.
