Hello,
today I wanted to install V7.005 on a Dell Optiplex GX260 for testing purposes. When the process came to the point, he wanted to verify the package checksums, I was told, that the installation failed.
I looked at another console-screen (I guess Alt-F3) and saw some messages with a problem at /install/install that there was a file missing.
Okay, the CDs not mounted, I recognized. So I rebooted and coming to the last F8-point, I mounted the CD manually and the installation worked fine.
How did it come to this problem? My Astaro-Reseller told me months ago (as I reported the problem with 6.x first), that there is no problem. Now this happens once again. So I saw, that my PC has not only a DVD-ROM but also a DVD-RW. After disconnecting the drive, everything works fine. So I guess, the installation-process can't handle these two optical drives. Is it a bug or a feature? Well, al least, I can live with it anyway....
Regards,
Tom
