Client connection dies after 1 to 2 minutes

I connect a Win XP Pro SP2 client to ASL using DHCP.  The connection remains up for 1 to 2 minutes then fails.  While up, I can ping both directions, log onto WebAdmin using Firefox, and browse the web.  After about 1 to 2 minutes, none of this works - cannot ping either direction, use WebAdmin, or browse anything.  This happens whether or not I actually do anything during that short period.

The problem has existed from ASL 6.IForgetWhat, through 7.003, 7.005, and now 7.006.  I have a home license.  Except for 7.006, all versions were clean installs; 7.006 is an up2date from 7.005.

Any suggestions where to start looking?

  • What's the ASL running on hardware-wise?  Have you tried different switches, NICs, cables?  have you tried checking the firewall logs, the ips logs, etc.?
