I am about to migrate our office ASG 6.3 firewalls from the clones they have been running on onto HP/Compaq Proliant DL360 G2 hardware.
The Compaq firmware maintenance CD ver 7.61 was first run against the hardware, updating all flashable bios code in the machine to current versions.
The Compaq SmartStart CD ver. 7.70 was then run, first used to wipe the system, and then to define a RAID1 array on the embedded SmartArray 5i controller.
The OS type was set to Linux in the Proliant bios, and the ver. 6.303 install CD was used to install Astaro. The installation proceeded as expected. However, on subsequent reboots, LILO will start to boot the kernel, but then the screen goes blank and I have nothing. Just a black screen and no keyboard response.
Has anyone been up against this issue?
What am I doing wrong?
There is nothing wrong with my Proliant hardware. It passes diagnostics.
