Not able to get to Internet

I have installed ASG 7 and everything seems to be set up correctly, but I can't get to the internet from either the ASG box (remote shell) or from any of my systems.  Here is my setup:

I am using a Linksys wireless router with DD-WRT V23 SP2 (set in gateway mode initially then rip2 then ospf operating mode as a test later in the process to see if that might be the cause)

I have the ASG 7 box connected via an ethernet port on the Linksys (this is the internal network). I then have the ASG 7 system connected to my ISP (Fios)

Here is a network setup

ISP (FIOS)<>ASG "External Network"<>ASG 7 BoxASG "Internal Net"    

The network State and Link show as up on both interfaces, 2 DNS Forwarder's to my ISP are setup. I used the wizard and my ISP gateway is set, the masquerading is set as "Internal [Network ---> External (WAN)],  and I have some default rules set up in Packet Filter (Websurfing). I actually added one based on searches in this forum of ANY, ANY, ANY to see if that helped. 

The problem is that I can't get out to the internet via my webbrowser or ping anything (I set up to allow pings through ASG). I look at my logs and it continues to show that there is a DROP from DNS (port 53) from the ASG box to the client, but I figure there is something else I am missing. One other note is that I am able to get to the admin interface the whole time (on both ASG and DD-WRT) and I have set my gateway on the client computer as the ASG system (via the DHCP server on ASG)

Has anyone seen this before or am I making a newbie mistake (probably)?

    What type of ISP connection is it? Cable/ADSL/?

    Is the ISP assigning IP and gateway etc via DHCP or?

    You sound like you are on the right track.  I assume you are using the Linksys purely for its wireless feature? 

    Try manually setting ISP DNS servers on your client/s.

    Thanks for the reply. The connection type is Verizon FIOS (Direct connect to the wall with no intermediary modem)

    When I had my Linksys directly connected to my FIOS wall jack, it ran completely off of DHCP (no configuration required (e.g. no hostname or login requirements, etc.) I am using the Linksys solely as a wireless AP.

    When I first started out, I set up my clients with a static IP, and I set the primary and secondary DNS on the clients as well. I also tried to set the gateway to my ASG box with no luck.

    One interesting thing I noticed is that I couldn't get DHCP set up on my external network connection with ASG as it could never connect (using cable/DHCP settings). I eventually reset the configuration via the wizard and set the parameters (ISP gateway, DNS, IP) manually.

    One other note, I logged into the the ASG system via SSH and couldn't ping or do an NSLookup from the command line, which would make me think I set up something wrong in the ASG box and not the clients.

    Are you sure the FIOS doesn't have your MAC address from the linksys registered, and isn't allowing any more?

    It is possible that since you assigned the IP staticly, the FIOS is blocking it, and will only allow DHCP assigned addresses through.

    Just some suggestions, but maybe call their tech support to ask if your MAC is registered from the linksys, and blocking your new machine.

    I have had a couple of Linksys routers and a US Robotics router I have used on this connection with no MAC problems (or need to call in) over the last year (upgrading or other HW failure forced so many different routers lately). I also tried to directly connect my PC's and it worked fine, so I am pretty sure in this case it isn't a MAC assignment issue. I can give it another try, but in this case the computer I am using for the ASG box was one of the ones I directly connected earlier in the year.
