Ntpd not running well

A quick google turns up this bug:

Looking at the bug it seems that the fix is to either go to an older version of ntp or to fix the kernel.

Interestingly, I'm seeing those errors on my v7 test machine, but time appears to by syncing up just fine.

Is the time really drifting out of sync frequently on this system? Is ntpd reporting anything else frequently (see the system log)?

Before yesterdag it was drifting out for 3 days?????? After the reboot yesterday it seems to be okay, no errors in system.log.......checked date and is up to date.

Other question...... how can I check when the time sync will be done. Is this done by crontab?

v7 runs the ntp daemon which attempts to always keep the clock synchronized with the specified ntp server. There is no set synchronization time.

but er is now something really wrong with my system, i thought it was up and running but after checking i saw dat the time will not go futher then 10:07. It looks like the seconds are counting down en then up see log:

Is there something wrong with my battery on the system?

That's not good. Replacing the battery won't do anything to help solve this issue.

If you remove the host you synchronize with under Management -> System Settings -> Time and Date does it still do the same thing?

If you also disable the NTP daemon under Network -> NTP does it still do the same thing?

What does /var/log/system.log have in it in terms of ntpd entries?

I did removed the host which I synchronized and killed the ntp deamon yesterday but stupid me that after the reboot ntpd daemon was running again.

If I check my webadmin I see that NTP deamon under Network is disabled and under Management -> System Settings -> Time and Date I removed the host.

If I check the /var/log/system.log file I see the following:
