my hardware:
- PC: Hewlett Packard dc5700 (Office-PC [;)])
- 1 GB RAM, CPU: Intel Core2 6300 @ 1.86 GHz
- 1 onboard NIC, 1 additional NIC (D-Link DFE-530 TX)
- 1 SATA harddrive, 1 SATA DVD-ROM drive
- USB-Keyboard
I downloaded the ASG7-ISO-file, checked the md5-checksum, then burnt the CD at 16X (can't go any slower). I burnt the 1st CD using "Track-at-Once", the 2nd with "Disc-at-once", just in case.
Installing with the 1st CD only works when I use the "classic" install (without APIC). If I just press or type "nosmp", Linux starts loading, but the last message I see before the PC freezes is:
"Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel."
With the "classic" option installing works fine. But after the first reboot, I can only see about 7 lines of text flashing on the screen before it goes blank. Therefore, I can't read the messages.
If I press "ESC" during bootup to get the grub-menu, then choose the rescue-option, I can see the following error messages:
root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/vmlinuz.previous root=/dev/disk/by-label/root vga=normal video=ofonly nolapic noapic acpi=off splash=silent
Error 15: File not foundBooting 'Astaro Security Gateway v7 (rescue)'
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/vmlinuz.previous root=/dev/disk/by-label/root vga=normal video=ofonly nolapic noapic acpi=off splash=silent
Error 15: File not found
Press any key to continue...
I really see the messages ("kernel /boot/vmlinuz[...]") twice.
Can anybody help me find the cause for this error?
BTW: Does ASG still have problems with Dual-Core-/SMP-Systems?
Regards, Hon.
