ASG V6 appliance upgrade kit

My current platform is an ASG 220 on version 6.304.
 
I noticed that at up2date.astaro.com in the notes for 7.004, it mentions an ASG V6 appliance upgrade kit.  Makes me think that the conversion won't be as simple as an up2date.  
 
Does anyone have any details they can share about what this kit entails and if I need to hit up the powers that be for a budget to purchase the kit?

    This is my issue. I have 3-4 ASG120s floating around with 6.304. Perfectly stable and works great, but I just ordered another ASG120 for redundant hot-swap backup procedures and its V7. From the little Ive tooled around in V7 it looks terrific.

    1. Id like to upgrade the 6.304 devices to V7. If its just a System Up2Date thats in the hopper but not quite ready, no biggie. I assume the install will be like al other Sys Up2Dates?

    2. My larger hurdle is taking backups I make from 6.304 and installing into a V7. Not only do I want to do this with upgraded boxes (if even necessary - if it doesnt delete the current config then theres nothing to do), but I also want to config my new standalone V7 box with the exact same settings as one of my 6.304 boxes. 

    From the sound of it, I cant copy off the 6.304 backup file from the 6.304 box and upload to the V7 box? If not, whats the next best alternative? It would honestly take me weeks of configuring to get them congruent by hand.

    They are close to releasing a version that can import 6.304 backup files... I'm waiting on that too.

    The update kit will be the same as they have done past versions. There will be a multi-step process that the ASG must do (not much for the admin). It involves the ASG downloading the latest appliance image, then it does some wonderful partition and stuff, reboots off the virtual "cd" using the image it downloaded, makes the new partitions, installs the new OS, imports the config.

    Has worked great every time they have done it. Can't wait!

    Cool beans. I think rather than convert my production 6.304 box to V7 and then try to restore the backup, I may first attempt to restore the production backup to the new V7 (when this patch is ready) we bought since its not currently in production. Then swap it into production and see if it works. If it does, leave it, and pull the 6.304 box, upgrade, and use as spare.

    In this case, if the 6.304 backup restore doesnt work on the freshly bought spare V7 box, I still have a good box running 6.304 I dont have to pull from production. I.E. test on the spare first.

    Dont doubt the upgrade works however. Ive never had one issue with my System/Pattern Up2Dates, but have only upgraded from within V6 and not leaped major rollouts.
