Up2Date Broken - Fresh V6.x

I just installed a fresh copy of ASL into a box and everything appears to be working fine.  Looking at the System -> Up2Date Service tab, I noticed something odd.  I appear to have 18 updates waiting in the queue.  They range from 6.003-6.304.  The problem is that I can't install any of them.

When I select install, under actions, it spawns a new window like it should.  It then churns for about 3 seconds and returns this:

Done

It doesn't install anything.  I have tried rebooting but no help.  Anyone have any suggestions?

  • I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but perhaps try burning a 6.304 or 6.303 ISO and install that?

  • Hi aelbric,

unfortunatly that is an issue with the up2date partition harddisk size. Having so many up2date packages can lead to the fact that unpacking the update is not possible. This issue has been adressed in ASG V7, which has now a bigger partion that can host any update we will release, hopefully [;)]

there are two solutions what you can do.

    1) download the latest iso image from http://download.astaro.com and reinstall the system. you should be able to import that backup file again.

if this is for any reason not possible, than there is the a bit more technical way.
    2) login into the console, go to /var/up2date/ and delete all up2date packages except the first 5 packages. Than go to webadmin and install them one by the time. after you have that, prefetch all updates again, delete all execpt the first 5, ... and so on.

    i hope that helps,
    regards
    Gert
