DNS route + reverse DNS

Hi all,

I have a little issue with Astaro SG V7.002:
I have a DNS in my local network, but I wanted to use Astaro for external DNS requests (for local network to go on Internet) and the DNS in my local network to resolve names of the local network machines.
No problem here, I've set up a DNS request routing and the names of Internet sites or my local network machines are resolved.
The problem is reverse DNS: Reverse DNS for internet sites works, but when I ask reverse DNS on my local network, Astaro doesn't ask my local DNS server. It's quite normal because I've set up nothing to "say" to Astaro that 192.168.1.xx should be "reverse resolved" by my local DNS server. So where can I set up this parameters ?

I don't believe that is supported.

However, you could edit the DHCP server settings so that internal clients get the Internal DNS server, and then the Int DNS can use the ASL DNS for resolving External names.

Hi there,

i am not 100% sure if works, but you can give it a try.

Try to add request routing like this:
"1.168.192.in-addr.arpa" -> local dns server

this way, the reverse lookup for your complete local network should be redirected to your local dns server.
