[6.304] High CPU Load

I believe that's part of the webmin.

Are you seeing that all the time, or just when using webmin?

Everytime I am in WebAdmin. At one point it reached 99.9 CPU Utilization! Otherwise my system is fine. Am I dogging my box? Do I need to remove some security services (HTTP Proxy, SMTP Proxy)?

And what did you click in the webadmin? The syscall facility is used by the webadmin to spawn an external program to gather some information, e.g. for gathering information about the emails in quarantine ...

Basically I log in and check the Reporting > Hardware and Proxy > Proxy Content Manager.

We are using an ASG120. I believe their are two versions of this one with 256MB of RAM and one with 512MB. I have the 512MB system. Could I upgrade the memory in the system?

Hi-Con:  The ASG 110,120, and 220 are all limited (in hardware) to 512MB, due to the chipsets these appliances utilize.  You are right, they are now shipping the 110/120 units with 512MB installed, instead of 256MB (I was one of the resellers that pushed on them to do this, we were having rather severe issues with WebAdmin on version 6 due to low memory).

All that said, I did a trade show just last week and had an older 120 that Astaro shipped me for demo at the show (all my demos were out in the field), and it had only 256MB in it... well, it worked just fine (no hangs in the Webadmin, etc.), and it was running Version 7.002... something might just be flaky with your install on that appliance, or there might be some other issue... since you have an appliance, I'm assuming you have Gold or Platinum maintenance... I'd give support a call, I've always had good experiences with those guys.

Oh, before you call... try updating to Version 7.003--it has a laundry list of fixes, and seems to be working OK so far on our test system.  If you are running Version 6, make sure you are running Version 6.304.
