3Ware 9650SE-2LP

3Ware 9650SE-2LP -> 2-port, SATAII, PCI-Express x1, RAID card

Does anyone know if this card works with ASL version 7?
It's for a simple RAID1 setup on a new server.

The HCL lists the 3Ware 9500, but I'm not sure if this model of the 9500 series card is too new or not.

    The answer is no, at least not as of version 7.002.
    It doesn't seem to see the controller or any attached hard drives, whether it's a single drive (JBOD) or 2 drives in a RAID1.

    You try opening a trouble ticket asking for an update 3ware driver in the next release?

    v7 ships with version 2.26.02.007 of the 3w-9*** driver.

    Support for the 95xx cards was added in version 2.26.02.008 of the 3w-9*** driver. This change was commited to Linus' tree on 2006-11-09 which would have been released in the 2.6.19 on Nov 29 2006.

    Considering that the shipped kernel is 2.6.16.36-41 it's not surprising that the card isn't supported.

    Edit: The *** are really 3 x's, the content filter thinks x x x is a bad word apparently.

    Any update on this card? Is is supported now?

    My guess would be no, if it's not on the HCL (see http://www.astaro.com/lists/HCL-ASG-V7.txt) ... the good news is the forthcoming ASG Version 8 will support a lot more devices; it should be in public beta soon.  I have no idea, though, if this card will specifically be supported.
