Upgrading ASG 220

Can someone point me to right docs?

- I am trying to upgrade to v7 from v6. - There is no monitor port on the 220 and the console port(s) do not seem to be active.

- I have upgraded a 110 succesfully with the USB ISO booting process. 

- I can not find any other instrustions on how to get the install to update or can I find and install wizard docs to update the license and confiruration prior to the install.

- I can not find the docs on how to use the up2date feature to update the router.

---- Please help by providing links or article numbers to documetation on how to update the ASG 220.

 THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR ASG 220 [:S] 
Step by step howto

    * 1. switch the ASG off
    * 2. plug in the USB-CD-ROM drive (with the Autoinstall-ISO in it) (For ASG 320 it is important to use the USB port at the front)
    * 3. switch the ASG on
    * 4. make sure that "Boot from USB-CDROM" in bios is on first position (default on ASGs)
    * 5. after installation, the ASG starts to beep until it is switched off (for V7 see below) 
           - Success: 1 beep, 1 second sleep, repeated until switched off
           - Failure: 3 short beeps, 2 seconds sleep, repeated until switched off

    * 6. remove CD-ROM
    * 7. End

    Which installation cd are you using ?
    There is a special one for ASGs, which is normally only available for partners.
    They will help you to upgrade your system.
    Your configuration can't be migrated right now. Migration is told to be available March/April

    I am using asg-7.002-070302-1.iso. I have successfully upgrade seven 110's without issue. I just cannot do the 220. Is this the correct ISO?

    Did that work for you?  I have the "SAI" iso and I followed the instructions but nothing is happening.

    The sai image worked fine on a 320 I upgraded to 7.002 the other day.

    I upgraded our 220 the same week the ISO came out.  worked great.  Could it be your system is not detecting the usb cdrom?  I used a samsung dvd rw drive.  It took a good 45min to complete if I remember correctly, but it went just as expected.

    Hi there,

    how do i get the Image to an USB Stick?
    My former Reseller provided me with a Stick for the v5 ages ago, but I don't have it anymore to compare...

    Have not an ASG but a SecuTrends Appliance.

    Help would be much appreciated.

    The appliance needs the "reseller "SAI" version" The Open ISO will work, but your licence won't work as it will see the applaince as a 3rd party hardwar unit instead.  I upgraded an ASG Fine then my older one ASG220 wouldn't go .. used the "special" VGA cable that fits the MOtheRBOARD, found that the BIOS was NOT set to boot from USB CDROM.
    As for USB stick, if it won't go on a CDROM then nor will USB stick. IT's at the hardware level you need to look .....

    Where can I find some more info on this 'special' vga cable? My ASG220 hangs with the message ASG Installation Pre-install - E. That's why I would like to see where it hangs.

    It comes with the appliance out of the box, in the bag with all the "goodies", like power cable, rackmount ears, etc.  If you lost yours, or it disappeared, contact your reseller, I'm sure they have a spare they could lend / give to you.

    The "ribbon" cable is "shipped" to Authorized Resellers ..... they tend not to be in newer shipped units it seems ...any way it plugs into the centre of the MAin Board inside the unit so you will have to remove the case. it is a 16 pin plug (two rows by eight) that goes to a standard VGA socket.
    If you can't get one, send a message and I can give you the wiring config to make one up if you are "techy" ....I would just get a spare cable from an old vga board and then "Punch" an IDC socket on the end ....
