A very closed gateway. Help please!

Hello,  I have installed ASG7 on a spare box and have been trying to get it to work on my home network with absolutely no joy whatsowever.  I have read the getting started (v6) and even the full manual but I seem to be going around in circles.
My external n/w is 192.168.0.0 with gateway (Netgear DG834) on 192.168.0.1
My internal n/w is defaulted to 192.168.2.0 with the SG on .100

I have added my ISP DNS's  and set up a masq rule as per other posts.

A PC (XP - workgroup ) conects fine to the internal port and I can log in to the ASG, however I cannot see anything further through the gateway, even if I use IP addresses.

Another PC (also XP - workgroup) on the external network can also log into the ASG.

I am not using DHCP or DNS or Proxies etc.

I am sure that the answer is blindingly obvious and staring me in the face, but I just can't see it.     Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

What are your PacketFilter rules?

Packet filter is Any --> Any
No static routes defined.  No policy routes defined
Masquerading   Any --> External
No NAT rules defined
Intrusion Protection Inactive

F/W  7.002
Licensed
Pattern version 1993

PC is 900MHz P3, 512Mb & 40GB HDD.

I'm really at a loss to understand why this isn't working. [:S]

I know you wrote that masq is enabled for the internal network it's just that it is so easy to make stupid mistakes with that. A messed up masq-rule would pretty much lead to your problems.

Another thing to check would be the connectivity from your gateway to the external network. Can you ping-check or traceroute "outside" machines from your firewall?

Light at the end of the tunnel - What a dumbo.
Had put gateway IP of 192.168.2.1 in Windoze. Made it .100 and things seem a lot better now.
