Problems with NTP

I checked to see if Astaro is adequately supporting the new Daylight Savings rules and find that the time is an hour off.  I checked the ntp server and found it to be good.

I checked functionality by adding this server and several other public domain servers to a linux machine as well as the Astaro firewall.  By using ntpq and checking peers I could see that Astaro was FAR off the mark in maintaining the correct time.  

I have removed astaro as an NTP time source on my network but am surprised that this service is not working.  There seems to be little to no good information on the mechanics of this service from the GUI.

Are other finding similar problems?  I'm wondering if others are having similar problems and are simply not aware of the issue due to the lack of GUI tools.

    It appears that the post above has irritated someone and I can no post messages using that account.  I assume this account will be similarly blocked as soon as they find out about it.  I guess my company will need to look at backup vendors for security appliances.

    In regards to your question I am running ASL v7.002 with all updates occurring automatically.

    I check (again) time on my astaro server and find the time 1 hour off.  I reset the time (again). Now I'll add Astaro back to my list of ntp servers and recheck it's status.

    Hmmmm... it looks like ntp is working fine.  Something else seems to be resetting the clock.  

    I found something in the self monitoring logs:

    I don't know what this means but if the system is detecting a timewarp it may be responding to it and adjusting the time to the incorrect time  [moving the time back one hour]

    Is this making any sense to anyone?

    I would be very suprised if you have been banned. A number of people have thought the same as you, but in reality it is because somebody has screwed with the cache settings of the forum server. After you login you need to hit F5 and to see post updates you need to hit f5.
     
    Your post is very tame and would not even be classed as slightly warm compared with some of the others that were posted in the V7b forum.
     
    In general before you login you need to hit f5.
     
    Simon Shaw who is one of the moderators has raised this issue with Astaro.

    It happens regardless of browser, IE7, Firefox 1.5.x and 2.x
