Hm, we already had that issue a couple of days ago. You are not automatically eligible for every pattern type, which patterns you get depends on your hardware and configuration (e.g. no hardware accelerated virus scanning - no patterns for hardware accelerated virus scanning are downloaded).
Andreas, I think William is pointing at a slightly different issue. If you open the up2date menu, more often than not you find a pattern update available and waiting to install. The installation seems to take awhile and there doesn't seem to be any control over it.
There cannot be the case of a pattern up2date waiting for install. They are either downloaded and installed automatically, or they are not downloaded at all. There may be a slight time offset between download and install, but no need (and no way) to manually trigger it.
If you choose not to automatically download and install pattern packages, you will still see the latest available version change. If you want those pattern files, re-enable automatic pattern download and install.
With all options except hardware virus scanner enabled.

Thanks for the hint! On one of our up2date servers the global revision counter was not increased correctly. So if you asked that server for up2date packages, the latest up2date packages were provided (and downloaded and installed), but the global version would not increase.
