ASG Software Version 6.0 versus 7.0

I am using version 6.0 of the ASG software on a Pentium 4, 3.2Ghz, 800MHZ FSB, with 512mb of RAM.  I tried using 7.0 and it seems soooo sluggish.  RAM usage is around 55% all the time and when navigating through the configuration panels and pages it sometimes locks up and gives me issues an I end up refreshing it and starting over.
     From a Security standpoint is Version 7.0 better than 6.0 or can I just stick with 6.0?  Version 6.0 seems to be so much smoother to me IMO, it just does not have the eye candy 7.0 has.  Will 6.0 still be supported as far as updates and all?  I have purchased a license and all for the complete package.  Just curious.  Thanks.

    V7.x gui. It comes down to what version of IE or firefox you are using.
    ie7 very good
    ie 6 okay
    Firefox 1.5x onwards excellent.

    For home use v6.303 is more than adequate, v7 has some extra features but most homeusers wouldn't use. I would wait until after the next up2date before  going to v7.x 

    V7.000 has some initial startup problems which are fixed in v7.001. You do need to be patient with the v7.000 gui, it is a little slow.

    I would recommend you become very familiar with v6 before moving to v7 if you don't need the extra features.

    Currently I am using the latest version of Firefox with the NoScript, Quick Java, and HTTPOnly plugins and the two software programs (Outpost Pro Firewall and ProSecurity) on my computer.  I am using Version 7 of the Astaro now and it seems okay.  The only thing I like better about Version 6 is it seems you can go into the Snort signatures and modify them more precisely as far as drop or allow etc for each individual one than you can in Version 7.  I may be wrong, but what do you think?  A lot of the stuff I do not need from version 7, i.e. the new remote VPN and SSL connections etc, because I use Hamachi to connect to my computer with RD to access my computer from on the road when I travel so no biggie to me.  Any more advice would be nice, but overall security wise is 6 as good as 7?  It seems to be to me IMO...maybe I just need more RAM on my system. lol

    Well I hate IE, I am currently using the latest version of Firefox with the NoScript, Quick Java, and HTTPOnly plugins, running XP Professional (Limited user account), have Hardware DEP in AlwaysOn mode in my Boot.ini file, and I have the two software security programs Outpost Pro Firewall and ProSecurity on each of my computers.  I am using Version 7 of the ASG software now and it seems okay.  The only thing I like better about Version 6 is it seems you can go into the Snort IPS signatures and modify them individually more precisely as far as drop or allow than you can in Version 7 (Seems version 7 is just a bunch of check boxes and that is it other than the exclusions).  I may be wrong, but what do you think?  A lot of the stuff version 7 I do not need, i.e. the new remote VPN and SSL connection packages etc., because I use Hamachi to connect to my computer with RD to surf the internet from on the road when I am traveling and so forth.  Any more advice would be nice, but overall security wise is 6 as good as 7?  It seems to be to me IMO (Have been using it for about 6 months now) Maybe I just need more RAM on my system. lol
