Anyone know of 2U or 3U SHALLOW rackmount ATX?

i tell you, i have been looking and looking and i'm surprised that i have not been able to find a product that meets my needs.

I'm looking for an ATX rackmount case that is 12" or less deep. It can be 2U but 3U (or even 4U) would be great so i wouldn't need riser cards. 

i don't understand why it doesn't seem like these are being made. the biggest reason seems to be that most case makers design their cases with a lot of 5.25" bays up front.

i would like something appliance like. all i need is space for 1-2 3.5" hdd's and not even a full cdrom. i'll gladly use a slim notebook style cdrom (that's what i use in all my other servers).

i'm sure at least a couple of you have the same needs and have perhaps "discovered" something that works?

    My AMD 754 pin based ASG uses a GA-K8VM800M motherboard which is a mini ATX.

    24.4cm x 24.4 cm which translates in approx 9.75" x 9.75" comes with inbuilt display chip and shares 64mb of memory from your main memory.

    Will take up to 2gb of memory, has 3 PCI slots. Uses either  4 ATA or 2 SATA I drives. One on board LAN chip based on a Realtek 8100C. Alternatively, get a laptop drive which is smaller and low power either ATA or SATA.

    Runs very quiet if a suitable power supply is used, generates very little heat under normal load conditions. I have removed the floppy and the CD drives.

    So if you get a low profile NIC it might fit in a 2RU case.
