Active Directory > Joining the domain failed

Hi,


I am trying to Join ASG V7 to the Active Directory.
The result is always the same: "Joining the domain failed"

My configuration:

Network\DNS 
Forwarders: = Provider
Request Routing: test.intra.net to Domain Controller Active Directory (DNS-Server)
  
Users\Authentification\Active Directory 
Server: Domain Controller
Port: 389
Bind User DN: CN=svc04,CN=Users,DC=test,DC=intra,DC=net
Bind User Password: ***xx
Repeat: ***xx
 
Domain: test
Admin username: Administrator
Password: ***xx
Repeat: ***xx

The ASG and the Domain Controller are on the same Subnet.
Active Directory Windows 2003 Native mode.

Can someone help me?

    ASG is NOT a WINDOWS AD aware device .. it's LINUX .. so .. you need to create a PRE WIN3K3 account:
    To create a pre-Windows 2000 computer account the ASG , follow these steps:
     a.  In Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click Computers, and then click New. 
    b.  In theComputer namebox, type the NetBIOS name. 
    c.  In the Computer name {pre-Windows 2000}box, type the NetBIOS name. 
    d.  Click to select the Assign this computer account as a pre-Windows 2000 computer check box, and then click Next.  
    e.  Make sure that the This is a managed computer check box is not selected, click Next, and then click Finish. 

    Now try the JOIN process ..

    Hi RufusToofus,

    I tried it out… still the message "Joining the domain failed“!!!
    After that I test another thing:

    Avtive Directory Single-Sign-On (SSO)
    Domain: empty
    Admin username: domain\administrator
    Password: ***
    Repeat: ***

    And see the miracle… now I successfully joint the Domain!!!

    The reason we know of this is because we have been a Novell Partner since 1993 and worked Novell since 1989 ... We implmented CIFS as a solution for client, then suddenly the CIFS stopped after a Service pack from Microsoft !!!!!  so see this MS link if it helps

    We have joined many ASG 6.x appliances to AD using this method.

    Make sure your Bind User DN and your Base DN are correct.  I used DSQUERY command to find what the Distinguished Name was.  Type DSQUERY user -name administrator* and then copy and paste the text that shows up into your "Bind User DN:" section.  Then copy that same text into your Base DN: section but delete the CN= part so you only have your base domain name such as DN=intranet,DN=company,DN=com.  Also make sure your Domain: section uses the FQDN.  For example, instead of using INTRANET as your domain name use INTRANET.COMPANY.COM
