Up2date error (I think)

Got a shiny new V7.001 running now. Its looks much much nicer than the older version (6) - not that I had any complaints about that either. But it is much more polished now.... Well done.

Policy routes I have a problem with - but that another story.

Up2date:
Under Up2Date under Management.
Current Firmware V7.001

Pattern
   
           Current pattern version:   1311
Latest available pattern version: 1314

The number to the left shows the current pattern version. If the message is shown that newer patterns are available, enable the Automatic Pattern Installation option on the Configuration tab. For security reasons, anti-virus, anti-spam, and intrusion protection patterns can only be updated automatically.

Both automatic pattern installation and firmware download are enabled. But it doesn't seem to update the AV / AntiSpam patterns...

I have copied a section from the log below - anyone got any ideas?

    I don't think there is a problem. Remember the spam/virus up2date package runs every 5 minutes, so that you always download the latest releases as soon as they are available. What you are looking at is that during those periods you are using as examples there haven't been any updates released.
    Also those messages are either [info] or [failed], but none are [critical]. The [failed] and [info] are standard exit messages and as a combination of the two, I think it means there weren't any packages uploaded to be installed.

    Now if this went on for a couple of days or even one day without any updates I would be very worried.

    There is another thread about the delay in releasing updates by Authentium (I think that is how it is spelt).

    Mine has now updated to 1320 but 1323 is indicated as being available....

    Not every system needs every pattern type. Most systems for example do not need pattern files for hardware accelerated scanning, therefore it won't download/install them. What you need is automatically determined by your available hardware and configuration.
