Correct, that's how it is written in the release notes. It's also written there that a backup converter will be available around march.

Andreas: Why March?   Why has this feature been given such a low priority.  This will,  and already has stopped quite a few upgraders.
I have 1 installation I want to move over to v7 for email encryption, however with over 100 PF rules I am having to wait...

i can't understand it... it's so important for everyone, who works with V6 and want to update to V7... [:S]

The complete backend logic to store, validate and enforce configuration has been changed from version 6 to version 7. In addition, the amount of features and dependencies are enormous. And the worst case for us would be customers trying to upgrade ending in a broken, non-recoverable system state. Therefore we rather take our time to test this excessively and with utmost care.
