[7.001] NIC's not working in V7 but in V6 they work!!!

I got a test PC an ASUS T2-AH1:
CPU: AMD64 2,4 GHz
1 GB of RAM
Internal NIC: 88E8053 Yukon PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller 10/100/1000
second NIC: Realtek 8139 10/100
HD: 80 GB

I installed ASG V7.001 (all hardware is recognized), rebooted and try to ping to another node. No ping reply. First I choosed the Gigabit NIC as admin NIC, no ping reply (only internal ping to the NIC in console mode). Then I installed ASG V7.001 again and choose the Realtek 8139 as admin NIC: same results can't ping other hosts in console local ping! Then I did the same tests but choosed the installation in "classic" mode. Same results!!!. First I thought there was something wrong with the NIC's. Installed Windows and both NIC's working perfectly.
So I choose to install ASG V6 and guess what EVERYTHING is working PERFECTLY!!!! I can ping with both NIC's to other hosts.
This is really odd. There is a change in V7 causing the NIC's aren't responding in comparising to V6.

Has someone have a clue what is causing this odd problem???

does those nics have link leds blinking.

from where are you pinging. on the console or in you internal lan.

check you astaro configuration.

nat and packet filter rules.

if its not enabled their it wont work.

I see for a few seconds led's activity. But I can't configure ASG V7 because the ASG-box isn't reachable!!!! It's a CLEAN installation. And after that I can't reach the box, so no configuration possible. But the strange thing is that in V6 it DOES works!!!!

can you change the nic realtek to something else or put it in a different slot. check also the irqs in the bios. i understand that it worked in v6 but sometimes software reacts strange.

I already changed the NIC with another Realtek NIC, same results. I can't put the NIC in another PCI-slot because it's got only 1 PCI-slot....

Strange, the Realtek should work normaly, but I don't know about the Yukon. Can you atach a monitor and keyboard to the system, so you could see localy, via ifconfig and tcpdump if traffic is getting to/from the firewall.

ifconfig says eth1 is up (the REALTEK 8139). But I "see" a few blinks from the NIC but NO reply. That's just the weird thing. i don't have an explanation for it. V6 works perfectly and in V7 the NIC's seems dead.....

Have you done a tcpdump -i eth1 on the system?
